FOOD
PHOTOGRAPHY

We created Advanced Foodtography School for the eager student looking to take their photos from good to great. This is a fast-paced, information-packed course that will forever change the way you shoot your food photos.

Advanced Foodtography School will help you to learn subtleties in editing, develop a more complex grasp composition, and teach you intricacies in food styling that will elevate your photos immediately.

Advanced Foodtography is founded on the belief that food photography, like any other form of visual art, is inherently linked to strong composition and visual principles of design. In studying these topics, you will see your food photography transform into a static art form.

01.

PROPEL YOUR COMPOSITION TECHNIQUES

The Rule Of Thirds is so last year. In this course, you'll study both theoretical and mathematical art principles that will speed up your shooting process, energize your compositions, and make your photos more unique and complex.

02.

TAKE YOUR EDITING SKILLS TO THE NEXT LEVEL

You'll discover how to manipulate tone curves, camera calibrations, and the HSL panel like never before. You'll learn all about Ansel Adam's Zone System and how it serves as a framework for your editing style, and have access to 8 editing videos that deep dive into Lightroom manipulation.

03.

ELEVATE YOUR UNIQUE STYLE

The ultimate goal as a food photographer is to develop a unique style that stands out from the crowd. Through five visual and theoretical exercises, you'll develop a look, feel, and brand that is distinct to you.

IS FOR YOU IF

This course is for you if you have an inherent understanding of Lightroom, your camera, and composition. This course is not for the beginner who is just getting used to shooting in manual mode or does not feel comfortable in Lightroom.

Testimonials

"

I remember my mind being blown with information on composition and branding. I didn’t know anything about anything. Sarah teaches things that weren’t in the books I was reading.

In addition to the hard facts that were being taught, I learned how to pitch myself to brands. When I first joined, I had maybe 1,000 followers. But I started making a decent amount of money even with a small following. Sarah drilled into us “content is king.”

I used to shoot full time for 4-5 bloggers (reshooting new content for them with 1 recipe per week). Now I have capped it at 1 blogger because I’m so busy! I was recently taken on by an agency that manages all my brand partnerships. Now I’m focusing on the creative process - developing recipes and shooting them. I started with brands where it was 1 off deals for not a lot of money and now it’s high end brands with 6 month retainers.

Sarah has given the fundamentals to me to allow me to fly and make food photography into a career. For the first 6 months, I just practiced everything I learned and set up my business. Within 6 months, the job opportunities started to come in. It made me believe that my photography was at a level that brands are willing to pay for.

If you know that you have it in you to be an awesome food photographer, you’re not going to regret taking this step. I knew it was time to make the leap and make food photography my full time job when I would see all these gorgeous photos of food out there, and I wanted to get across to my audience how amazing my food was. I was tired of my food photography not matching the taste of my food! So it had to happen!

We have laid out Advanced Foodtography School in a 10 week format with over 20 hours of course content inside. It’s up to you how fast or slow you would like to take the course, but if you put in 2-3 hours per week for 10 weeks, you can complete the course in that time frame!

Members of the Advanced Foodtography bootcamp in 2018 received access to, essentially, what was an Advanced Foodtography School in the making. The material inside this Advanced Foodtography School is all pre-recorded, and contains new and original content and bonuses that do not exist within Advanced Foodtography School Bootcamp. There are only two concepts carried over from Advanced Foodtography Bootcamp: the zone system and principles of grouping.
